Loblaws grocery stores are holding an Extra Helping Holiday Food Drive until Dec. 13 at all Loblaws-brand stores. Food or cash donations are being accepted to help fight hunger in communities across Canada.

The Shoebox Project

Until Dec. 10, The Shoebox Project for shelter is collecting small gifts totalling no more than $50 that are small and are packaged in shoe boxes. The boxes are given to women in shelters just before the holidays.

Last year alone, they made donations to the Red Door Family Shelter, Street Haven at Crossroads, Nellie’s, and Nazareth House, and their goal for 2012 is to deliver shoeboxes to more shelters in the GTA.
