BURLINGTON - Provincial police say an 83-year-old Guelph man died Monday night when he crashed his Buick head-on into a Honda while driving the wrong way on a highway.

The crash occurred in the Toronto-bound lanes of the Queen Elizabeth Way near Burlington at around 9:40 p.m.

Police say Murray McNutt was alone in the Buick and was taken to Hamilton General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There were three men in the Honda and two had to be extricated from the vehicle by Burlington firefighters.

The three were taken to Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington and Hamilton General Hospital -- two of them with life-threatening injuries

Provincial police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to contact investigators.
