A driver involved in a two-vehicle accident in the city's west end had his iPhone stolen from him Sunday morning after he handed it off to a passerby to call 911.

It happened at around 6 a.m. near Keele Street and Eglinton Avenue.

According to police, the man handed over the phone after running a red light and striking a station wagon, which then crashed into a bus shelter.

The station wagon was driven by a nun, who was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver was charged while the suspect who stole the iPhone was last seen running southbound on Keele Street.
