TORONTO - UFC lightweight champion Frankie (The Answer) Edgar has joined welterweight title-holder Georges St-Pierre in parting ways with manager Shari Spencer.
Spencer confirmed the Edgar news in an email Wednesday.
St-Pierre's departure came last month in a release from a Beverly Hills publication relations company that called the split "amicable."
Spencer told The Canadian Press that she approached Edgar after St-Pierre's departure to see whether he wanted to continue their relationship. A week later, he decided to go a different route.
The two remain friends, she said.
The Las Vegas-based Spencer helped Montreal's St-Pierre to some landmark sponsorship deals, including Under Armour and Gatorade.
St-Pierre has ties with CAA Sports, which helped represent him.
