An elderly woman is dead following a collision on Highway 27, a representative with York Regional Police has confirmed.
Police say a dump truck and a van collided on the highway just north of Sideroad 18, located south of Schomberg, shortly after 6 p.m.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.
No one else was injured in the crash.
Police are asking motorists to avoid travelling in the area as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
