TORONTO -- Some 400 films later the Toronto International Film Festival is wrapping up today.

Festival goers will be awaiting the release of the People's Choice Award for best film, anticipated because it has been a good barometer of which films will do well at the Oscars next year.

"The King's Speech", "Slumdog Millionaire" and "12 Years a Slave" are among the past People's Choice winners that have gone on to win best picture at the Oscars.

The award will be handed out at the film fest's closing banquet today.

The closing film for the event was screened Saturday night with "The Edge of Seventeen" about a socially awkward, self-absorbed teen who revolts when her best friend starts dating her brother.
