Toronto police have charged four men and are searching for a fifth suspect wanted in connection with a violent home invasion robbery last month in the city’s west end.

According to police, five men broke into an apartment at a residential building on Glenlake Avenue, in the Bloor and Keele streets area, shortly before 10:30 p.m. on March 19.

Once inside the apartment, the men demanded cash and property from the victim. When he refused, police say he was shot.

On Thursday, police executed three search warrants in Toronto. During these searches, police say a sawed-off shotgun, cocaine and cash was seized.

On Thursday police arrested and charged two men in connection with the incident.

Fathe Ahmed, 20, of Toronto, is charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm endangering life, armed robbery, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

Russell Bullock, 19, of Toronto, faces charges including attempted murder, discharging a firearm endangering life, armed robbery, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of cocaine.

Two other suspects had already been arrested in the case.

Last month, on March 26, 21-year-old Mahmood Ahmad, of Mississauga, was charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm endangering life, armed robbery, aggravated assault and two counts of failure to comply with recognizance.

A week earlier, 19-year-old Mohamed Taha, 19, was charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm endangering life, armed robbery, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, dangerous operation and failure to stop at the scene of an accident.

Police are now searching for a fifth suspect, identified as 20-year-old Andrew Douglas, in connection with the case.

Douglas is wanted for attempted murder, discharging a firearm endangering life, armed robbery, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
