Four people were injured in a fire at a seniors’ home in downtown Toronto Wednesday night.

According to firefighters, the two-alarm fire occurred in a first-floor apartment of a 10-storey building located at 20 West Lodge Ave., located in the Queen Street West and Lansdowne Avenue area.

Police say two people, a man and a woman, were transported to hospital.

The woman suffered burns to her hands, back and arms, as well as smoke inhalation, firefighters say.

She is currently listed as being in stable condition.

The man suffered smoke inhalation.

Two other people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation but were not transported to hospital.

Firefighters say the fire was contained to the unit, which was gutted.

The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
