About 100 office workers employed by Highway 407 ETR began walking the picket line Wednesday morning, but their strike isn't expected to have any impact on motorists' commute on the roll road.

The company that operates the express toll route said negotiations between its representatives and CAW Local 414 officials have been going on for several weeks, but they have been unable to reach a deal.

The striking workers include customer service and call centre employees who answer phones and greet customers.

Workers began picketing the ETR offices in Woodbridge, just north of Toronto, at 7 a.m.

Despite the strike, the highway and the ETR offices remain open.
