KINGSVILLE, Ont. -- An Ontario winery has had to dispose of 250,000 litres of its product after someone deliberately tampered with tanks on the property.

Provincial police say the incident took place at the Pelee Island Winery in Kingsville, Ont.

They say someone deliberately tampered with holding tanks containing both red and white wine overnight on Oct. 30.

The products inside the tanks were ruined and had to be disposed of.

Police say they don't know how many people were involved in the incident and did not indicate how exactly the wine was tampered with.

The Pelee Island Winery did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
