CHICAGO -- Authorities say an autospy to determine the cause of death of a well-known food critic who was in Chicago for the James Beard Foundation Awards was inconclusive.

Josh Ozersky was found dead late Monday morning at the Conrad Chicago Hotel. The Cook County medical examiner's office pronounced the 47-year-old Ozersky dead at the scene.

The medical examiner's office announced Tuesday that the final determination on the cause and manner of death of Ozersky requires further testing.

Ozersky was on the awards committee for this year's James Beard Foundation Awards.

Ozersky was a food writer for Esquire magazine and frequent contributor to other publications including Time, the Wall Street Journal and Food & Wine.

The James Beard Award-winning writer was a founding editor of New York Magazine's Grub Street food blog.
