One man has been airlifted to hospital following a collision involving at least two vehicles in Whitchurch-Stouffville this afternoon.
It happened at Highway 48 and Bloomington Road shortly before 2:30 p.m.
According to York Regional Police, a van and a tractor trailer collided. The circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately known.
One man was transported to the Buttonville Municipal Airport, where he was subsequently airlifted to hospital.
A representative with Ornge said the patient – believed to be in his 30s – has critical injuries.
Highway 48 is currently closed between Bethesda and Vandorf side roads as police continue to investigate.
