A 47-year-old man is dead following a cycling accident early Monday evening.
According to police, the man was turning onto Wychwood Avenue from St. Clair Avenue West when his bike tire got caught in streetcar tracks and he fell, striking his head, shortly after 6 p.m.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the man was not wearing a helmet.
"I'd just like to impress upon the public the need to be wearing a helmet while riding a bicycle," Toronto police Sgt. Glen George said at the scene.
