Bell Media will soon be launching Canada’s premium subscription on-demand service, offering some of the most-watched and most-acclaimed TV shows on all media platforms.

Bell Media announced Thursday the on-demand subscription service will feature a robust lineup of hit television content, including popular, classic HBO series like Sex and the City, The Sopranos, Six Feet Under and Deadwood.

Subscribers will have access on their traditional set-top box, as well as through mobile apps, the web, and other platforms like gaming consoles and Smart TVs. Code-named ‘Project Latte,’ the service will be made available to all TV providers in Canada and promises to offer high-quality TV shows not available through any other service.

“Project Latte addresses a significant gap in the Canadian TV system and allows TV providers to greatly enhance the value they provide to their clients,” Bell Media President Kevin Crull said in the news release. “If you like TV, you will love Project Latte’s program lineup,” added Mike Consentino, Senior Vice-President, Programming.

The full ‘Project Latte’ catalogue has yet to be released, but Bell Media did announce Thursday that it will include TV content from “many world-class content partners,” including HBO. The project is expected to boast more than 350 unique TV titles when it debuts and more than 10,000 hours of TV programming.

For example, ‘Project Latte’ will  give viewers access to hundreds of titles from HBO Films, HBO Documentaries and HBO’s extensive catalogue of stand-up comedy specials from the likes of Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, Louis C.K. and Sarah Silverman.

The rest of the ‘Project Latte’ lineup will be unveiled in the weeks to come, Bell Media says. The service’s official name will be made public at launch.
