The first of four public meetings being held to solicit input on where to place stations on a potential downtown relief subway line will be held tonight.

The meeting is scheduled for the Calvary Church on Pape Avenue north of Danforth Avenue between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

According to a news release, TTC officials and members of the city’s planning department will be on hand and will be seeking guidance on potential station locations for an area south of Danforth Avenue and east of the Don River. Members of the public will also be able to review materials pertaining to the study of the potential line.

The downtown relief line, which would seek to relieve pressure on the Yonge subway line by connecting the city’s core with the Bloor-Danforth line, has previously been identified by TTC CEO Andy Byford as his number one priority.

The TTC has estimated the cost of the yet to be funded line at $3.2 billion.
