A 29-year-old Georgina man who pleaded guilty to a charge of second degree murder relating to the death of his father has been sentenced to life in prison.
William Kennedy pleaded guilty on June 30 to killing his 58-year-old father, Brad Kennedy, last year, York Regional Police said.
On February 19, 2014, police said they responded to a home on Isle Vista Drive in Georgina on a check welfare call. They discovered Brad Kennedy’s body. William Kennedy was arrested on the scene and charged with second degree murder.
Justice Anne Mullins sentenced William Kennedy to life in prison with no possibility of parole for 11 years.
