All lanes of Highway 400 have reopened in Barrie after a two-vehicle collision claimed the life of one man Friday afternoon.

The collision happened near the Dunlop Street off-ramp in Barrie at around 4:30 p.m. and involved an Acura MDX and a GSXR-750 motorcycle, Ontario Provincial Police said.

“We have confirmed that one person is deceased as a result of the collision,” OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt told CP24 Friday afternoon.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 43-year-old man from Oro Station, Ont., was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's name has not been released.

A female passenger travelling on the motorcycle at the time of the crash was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The occupants of the Acura were uninjured.

All lanes were reopened shortly before 8 p.m.
