A 17-year-old Mississauga man was transported to a trauma centre with a head injury after being struck by a vehicle on Friday morning.

Around 6:30 a.m., a van collided with the pedestrian at Bloor Street and Mississauga Valley Boulevard, Peel police say.

The man was conscious at the scene and was transported to hospital with a minor head injury, said Const. Paolo Carretta, a spokesperson for Peel Regional Police.

“At the hospital his condition has worsened and he was subsequently transported to a Toronto trauma centre,” Carretta told CP24.

Details on his current condition were not immediately provided.

The Major Collision Bureau is investigating the collision.  

No arrests have been made.
