TORONTO -- Toronto police say an investigation into an armed bank robbery in the city has led to more arrests and charges.

Two men are now facing charges in connection with the November bank robbery as well as a home invasion, while two teenaged boys have been charged in the home invasion incident.

It's alleged that two men wearing balaclavas and gloves went into a bank (in the Sheppard Avenue East and Markham Road area) on Nov. 23, one of them armed with a shotgun and the other with a handgun.

Police say the man with the shotgun vaulted the counter, told staff to get down on the ground and pushed the end of the shotgun into a teller's back while demanding money, while the other suspect pointed the handgun at staff and customers before the men fled with the money.

Christopher Goulbourne, 25, of Toronto, who police allege was the man with the shotgun, was arrested on Dec. 17 and charged with robbery while armed with a firearm and using a disguise with intent.

Police say Goulbourne and a second suspect arrested in connection with the bank robbery last week are now being charged in connection with a December home invasion involving two other accomplices.

It's alleged that on Dec. 9, four suspects smashed in the door of a downtown Toronto apartment (on Sherbourne Street) and assaulted and robbed a 49-year-old man inside.

Police say the man broke free and jumped over the balcony, hanging on to the ledge until the men left.

Following an investigation into the two incidents, police say Goulbourne has now been charged with another count of robbery while armed with a firearm.

In addition, Kesworth Bassaragh, 23, of Toronto, is charged with two counts of robbery while armed with a firearm and wearing a disguise with intent.

The two male teens, aged 17 and 16, face charges including robbery while armed with a firearm and failing to comply with a recognizance. Their identities cannot be released under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
