TORONTO -- Ricky Ray is back with the Toronto Argonauts.

The veteran quarterback was in his helmet and shoulder pads and throwing passes at practice Thursday for the first time this season.

Ray, 35, had opened the year on the injured list recovering from off-season shoulder surgery.

Argos head coach Scott Milanovich said the club took Ray off the six-game injured list prior to Thursday's practice but that Toronto remains Trevor Harris's team.

Toronto (6-3) is tied with Hamilton atop the East Division with backup Harris at quarterback.

Harris took first-team reps Thursday and will start Monday afternoon in Hamilton, with Milanovich saying Ray will likely be the club's No. 3 quarterback against the Tiger-Cats.

Also practising was slotback Chad Owens, who has missed four games with an ankle injury.

Milanovich said Owen could play Monday if he has no setbacks physically.
