GLASGOW - Canadian wrestlers have added four more medals to their haul at the Commonwealth Games.

Danielle Lappage of Olds, Alta., won gold in the women's 63-kilogram freestyle event, while Toronto's Tamerlan Tagziev was victorious in the men's 86 kg freestyle.

Jevon Balfour of Brampton, Ont., (men's 65 kg freestyle) and Brittanee Laverdure of Watson Lake, Yukon, (women's 55 kg) added silver medals.

Canada's wrestling team finished with 12 medals (seven gold, two silver, three bronze). Only India had more total medals with 13, though only five of them were gold.

Lappage used a dominant second period to defeat India's Geetika Jakhar 7-0 on points. Cameroon's Blandine Metala Epanga and Nigeria's Blessing Oborududu won the bronze medals.

Tagziev defeated Nigeria's Andrew Dick 14-4 to win gold. India's Pawan Kumar and South Africa's Armando Heitbrink won bronze.

Laverdure fell 9-2 to India's Babita Kumari in the women's 55 kg final. England's Louisa Porogovska and Nigeria's Ifeoma Nwoye finished with bronze medals.

India's Yogeshwar Dutt defeated Balfour 10-0 to win the men's 65 kg title. Sampson Clarkson of Nigeria and Scotland's Alex Gladkov settled for bronze.
