Amber Payie joined CP24 in 2000 as a Traffic Reporter. Payie also keeps commuters up-to-date on the radio waves, reporting the latest traffic news on 104.5 CHUM FM, TSN Radio 1050, and Flow 93.5.
Several of her career accomplishments include working as an announcer for 1050 CHUM’s popular midday show “Sweet Dreams” in 2004, working as the entertainment producer and reporter for 1050 CHUM’s “Gord James and the Gang” morning show, and from 2006-2008 hosting the station’s weekly oldies dances. Earlier in her career, Payie managed the “CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish” and continues to support the growing program today.
Payie developed her skills in communications at a young age while working as an actor, appearing in several TV shows, commercials, and stage performances. Payie joined the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists union in 1981. Her acting background includes training with Canadian television actor Alan Jordan and sketch comedy company “The Second City.” In 2011 Payie opened her own production company called Leading Lady Productions.
When she isn't helping Torontonians navigate congested GTA highways, Payie is an avid traveller. She has explored Europe, Central America and, other sunny-beach destinations. A hockey lover and movie buff, Payie tries to live by the mantra: "You're never fully dressed without a smile.”
As a graduate of Humber College’s Radio Broadcasting program, Payie has established an extensive radio career involving promotions, news writing, and reporting.
