As a Web Journalist, Chris Kitching is responsible for keeping CP24.com up to date with the latest, news, photos and videos from Toronto and around the globe. In addition to writing for CP24.com, Kitching is frequently on-air talking about online trends and reactions to the day's top stories. Kitching, along with the CP24.com team lead the way on twitter - @CP24 is the most followed twitter account of any newsroom in Canada.
Thriving in the big city and busy newsroom, Kitching joined Bell Media in December of 2010, spending some time writing for CTVNews.ca before moving to CP24.com in January 2011. Prior to this, Kitching spent over seven years as an auto columnist, general assignment reporter and crime reporter with The Winnipeg Sun. As the crime reporter, for The Winnipeg Sun, Kitching covered the tragic death of Tim McLean on a Greyhound Bus and the mounting mysterious disappearances and murders of women in Western Canada.
His first job in journalism was at The Daily Graphic, in his hometown of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Kitching attended Red River College in Winnipeg, earning his Journalism Diploma.
Along with his wife Alana and two cats rescued from the Winnipeg Humane Society ("Chuck Norris" and "Karate Kid"), Kitching calls Toronto home. He spends his free time in the hockey arena playing recreational hockey and attending local sporting events.
