A mudslide in the Craigleith area west of Collingwood is causing some concern as weather in the Barrie area is expected to get worse overnight.

No injuries have been reported. Some trees have been snapped and the mudslide is creeping dangerously close to a chalet, according to Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Peter Leon.

Traffic has been closed off at Arrowhead Crescent and Arrowhead Road as a result. Officials fear the landslide could continue its freefall. The area is under a thunderstorm watch and authorities are afraid heavy rain could aggravate the situation.

Local residents are being informed of the situation. They are being warned that they might have to evacuate their properties tonight.
