Four people are recovering in hospital after being stabbed in North York overnight.

Police responded to a call on Harlandale Avenue just after midnight after two groups got into a fight in the Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue area.

Four people were found suffering from stab wounds and were rushed to hospital. One of them, a man in his early 20s, had life threatening injuries, but is expected to recover.

Police said they do not believe the stabbing was random.

No one is in custody so far, police said.
