A major ammonia leak at a skating rink in Etobicoke shut down a stretch of street late Tuesday afternoon.
The rink, located at 340 Park Lawn Rd., was evacuated as a precaution.
Park Lawn Road was also closed in both directions north of Berry Road for several hours.
According to Toronto Fire Services, a “major” leak occurred in a room housing the chemical, filling the space with gas. The cause of the leak was not immediately known.
It was stopped at around 7:30 p.m. Emergency crews cleared the area a short time later.
There were no immediate reports of any injuries. One person was transported to hospital as a precaution.
