A 32-year-old man is facing charges after a sex-trade worker told police she was sexually assaulted, threatened and held against her will days before Christmas.

The suspect turned himself into police on Wednesday after investigators released his name to the public on Christmas Eve, asking people to come forward with information.

The assault happened in the area of Yonge and Charles streets on Dec. 22, according to the woman.

The woman told police she was forcibly confined, sexually assaulted and threatened with death.

Suspect Ankur Sindhu faces three charges in connection with the incident.

He was expected to make a court appearance on Thursday.
