Police Chief Bill Blair has until the end of today to inform the TPS board whether or not he wants to remain in charge of Canada’s largest police force.

Blair’s contract doesn’t officially expire until April 25, 2015 but if he wants to be appointed to a third five-year term he must inform the board today under the terms of his employment agreement.

The TPS board will then have 30 days to conduct a vote.

Speaking with CP24, TPS Board Chair Alok Mukherjee said Blair's decision will not be released to the public.

Blair, 60, has remained mum on his intentions, repeatedly telling reporters the matter should be kept between him and his board.
