A 13-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after a shooting in North York.
It happened on Driftwood Avenue in the vicinity of Jane Street and Finch Avenue early Sunday afternoon.
The teenager was taken to hospital with a single gunshot wound to his leg, Toronto Paramedic Service said. Police described his injuries as non-life-threatening.
Police originally described the incident as a drive-by shooting, but later said they are working to confirm whether that was in fact the case. They said it appears the boy was trying to run from whoever shot him.
There is no suspect information available so far, police said.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
