A five-year-old boy is dead after being backed over by a vehicle driven by his mother in Innisfil late Tuesday afternoon.
The boy was playing on his scooter when he was struck in Alcona at around 5 p.m., South Simcoe Police said.
He was pronounced dead in hospital a short time later.
Details on the specific location where the incident occurred were not immediately available.
Police continue to investigate. No charges have yet been laid in connection with the incident.
