Three homes were damaged and several residences had to be evacuated after a house fire in Brampton on Wednesday night.

Peel police say they were called to a residence on Binder Twine Trail shortly before 11 p.m. last night and found the structure completely engulfed in flames.

The fire, which spread to two additional houses and damaged two vehicles, prompted crews to evacuate more than 10 houses in the area.

No one was injured, police confirm.

The fire was under control early Thursday morning and residents who were evacuated have been allowed to return to their homes.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.

Police said that the blaze caused more than $1 million in damage and the Office of the Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate.

Police could not say if the fire is considered to be suspicious.
