Police have laid careless driving charges after a dump truck crashed into a guardrail and spilled diesel fuel along the Queen Elizabeth Way near Burlington.

The accident occurred shortly after 5 a.m.

As a result of the fuel spill and the ensuing cleanup, two out of the three Toronto-bound lanes on the highway were closed for most of the morning rush hour.

The lanes reopened at around 8 a.m.

No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
