OPP officers and the MTO closed the entire width of the QEW around Cawthra Road in Mississauga Monday morning to try to catch a cat stuck on the median separating the westbound and eastbound lanes.
Animal service officers, and an MTO “blocker truck” arrived on the scene to corral the feline. At one point it was spotted jumping from the median towards the south shoulder.
After a brief attempt to catch the animal, the cat escaped and ran away from the expressway.
All lanes were reopened to traffic shortly after the cat’s escape.
