The Canadian Border Services Agency says four kilograms of suspected cocaine was seized at Pearson International Airport last month after the substance was discovered inside fake breadfruit.

According to officials, on April 13 CBSA officers at the Toronto-area airport were inspecting a shipment that had been declared as fresh produce. After further inspection, an inconsistency was detected while the produce was going through the X-ray machine and officers found two painted, plaster breadfruit among a number of real breadfruit. The fake breadfruit contained what the officers believed to be cocaine.

The suspected substance was turned over to the RCMP, the CBSA confirmed in a news release sent out Tuesday.
