City council has voted to accept the integrity commissioner's ruling that Coun. Giorgio Mammoliti should be docked three months’ salary over a code of conduct violation.
Mammoliti is accused of accepting an $80,000 cash gift from a private company after a fundraising dinner he hosted in May 2013.
The dinner, attended by more than 200 guests, was billed as a chance for Mammoliti to celebrate his recovery from brain surgery.
Mammoliti, who maintains he did nothing wrong and believes the courts will rule in his favour, will forfeit just over $26,000.
