HAMILTON, Ont. - Hamilton police say they will need DNA testing to help identify human remains found Monday.

The remains were discovered by a citizen walking in the area of a flood basin in Stoney Creek near Watercrest Drive and Seabreeze Crescent.

Police say the remains are believed to be those of a male, but due to the advanced stages of decomposition, a positive identification cannot be made at this time.

They say a DNA comparison will have to be made and that the examination and analysis may take several weeks.

A post-mortem examination to help determine the cause of death was scheduled for Tuesday.
