Police have charged a Toronto driver after a traffic stop led to the discovery of some unusual passengers Wednesday morning.
It happened along the eastbound Gardiner Expressway shortly before 9 a.m.
According to police, a Dodge pickup truck with what appeared to be multiple passengers drove past an officer just east of Kipling Avenue in a marked HOV lane.
The driver was pulled over a short distance later where it was discovered that the occupants riding in the passenger and back seat were actually dressed mannequins.
“As a result, the driver was subsequently charged with the appropriate HOV offence,” a release from police Wednesday afternoon said.
“On a positive note, everyone in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.”
The name of the driver was not provided by police.
