Toronto police are hunting for a hit-and-run driver after a 44-year-old woman was struck and pinned by a vehicle in the city’s east end Monday night.

Police are urging the suspect to contact a lawyer and turn himself or herself in to traffic services investigators.

The woman was hit by a Lincoln sport utility vehicle as she walked with her 11-year-old son at the intersection of Midland and Eglinton avenues at about 8:40 p.m.

As the injured woman was pinned under the vehicle, the driver ran away from the scene.

After she was freed by emergency personnel, the woman was rushed to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
