Police in Barrie have arrested an elderly man in connection with the sale of crack cocaine.

According to police, the man and a 55-year-old woman were both arrested on Sunday after the Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a Barrie home.

A quantity of Canadian currency was seized during the search of the house.

The man is charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana while the woman is charged with possession of crack cocaine.

The man is expected to appear in court for a bail hearing today while the woman has been released on a promise to appear in court in September.
