Toronto Police say a man who once worked at a daycare in Scarborough’s Guildwood neighbourhood has been charged in connection with the sexual assault of a boy between 2009 and 2010.
Investigators say the accused worked as a supervisor at Not Your Average daycare, located at 225 Livingston Road, south of Kingston Road, between Jan. 2009 and Aug. 2010.
A boy who attended the daycare during that time, when he was between five and six years-old, was allegedly sexually assaulted.
On Tuesday, a suspect identified as Gianni (John) Pate, 36, of Toronto was arrested.
He was charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference.
None of the charges have been proven in court.
Pate is scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue West on Nov. 18 at 2 p.m.
