The family of a young woman struck in a fatal hit-and-run in Scarborough last week made an impassioned plea Monday for anyone with information to step forward.

Brandy Kashana Reid, 21, was struck on Danforth Road, near St. Clair Avenue and Kennedy Road, shortly before 3 a.m. on June 17.

She died in hospital Sunday.

Police have previously said that the driver of the vehicle failed to remain at the scene after striking Reid, who may have already been lying on the ground for unknown reasons according to video surveillance.

Investigators have described the vehicle they are looking for as an older-model Toyota Sienna minivan, possibly from the late 90s.

Reid, the youngest of four children, was an ambitious woman who dreamed of becoming a firefighter, according to her family.

Speaking with CTV Toronto Monday, her sister said she had struggle with not knowing the circumstances surrounding her sibling’s death.

“We don’t know anything,” Paula Reid said.

“And I think for me that’s the hardest part of my grief.”

Her mother pleaded with anyway with information to talk to police.

“Have little compassion, show some love, show some heart,” Valerie Davis said.

“Just do something. Do the right thing.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Toronto police.
