Here is a look at what's open, what's closed and some upcoming traffic tie-ups in Toronto for the last long weekend of the summer.

What's closed on Monday:

  • All LCBO and Beer Store locations
  • Banks
  • Post offices
  • Several grocery stores and malls

What's open on Monday:

  • Some tourist attractions including the ROM, Ripley’s Aqaurium, the Toronto Zoo and Canada’s Wonderland
  • Some grocery stores, including Loblaw at Maple Leaf Gardens (Carlton and Church)
  • The Eaton Centre, Vaughan Mills and Square One

The TTC and Go Transit will be running on holiday schedules. 

ROAD CLOSURES:

FAN EXPO:

Comic Con North is celebrating its 20th anniversary this weekend at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, playing host to fans with a wide-array of interests, from comic books and gaming to sci-fi and horror films.

The south curb lane on Front Street West from John Street to Simcoe Street will be closed as well as the north curb lane on Bremner Boulevard from Simcoe Street to the Metro Convention Centre driveway.

The road closures will be in effect on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A full closure will be in effect on Simcoe Street from the InterContinental Hotel driveway to Bremner Boulevard on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

OPEN STREETS TO:

The pilot project was launched in Toronto earlier this month and organizers are giving it another go on Labour Day weekend. Two major downtown roads will be closed to traffic and open to pedestrians for Open Streets TO.

Bloor Street from Spadina Avenue to Parliament Street and Yonge Street from Bloor Street to Queen Street will be closed on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the event.

LABOUR DAY PARADE:

The annual event typically draws thousands of Torontonians on the holiday Monday. The parade will travel along Queen Street West from University Avenue to Dufferin Street and south on Dufferin Street to the CNE.

The following roads will be closed from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.:

• University Avenue from Dundas Street West to Richmond Street West

• Queen Street West north curb lane from Bay Street to University Avenue

• Centre Street from Chestnut Street to University Avenue

• York Street from Richmond Street West to Queen Street West

The following roads will be closed from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.:

• Liberty Street from Dufferin Street to Jefferson Avenue

• Mowat Avenue from King Street West to dead end

• Fraser Avenue from King Street West to Liberty Street

• Pardee Avenue from Liberty Street to dead end
