A woman is dead after she was ejected from her vehicle and then struck by a passing car following a rollover in Burlington early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the woman was driving westbound on Highway 403 at around 2 a.m. when she lost control near Waterdown Road, crossed into the eastbound lanes and was ejected as her vehicle rolled over.

The woman was then struck by an eastbound van, police say.

"Nobody was injured in the van that struck the female and that party is on scene cooperating with investigators," OPP Const. Ian Michel told CP24 early Wednesday morning.

The eastbound lanes of the highway were closed at Waterdown Road, but reopened at around 9 a.m.
