A female has died after being struck by a Brampton Transit bus Thursday evening, Peel police have confirmed.
It happened at a bus terminal in the George and Nelson streets area shortly after 7 p.m.
“Unfortunately, we weren’t able to save the female,” Peel police Const. Harinder Sohi told CP24 at the scene.
The female, whose age was not immediately provided, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately clear.
“This is a pretty unusual situation here, because (…) the buses do not travel fast here,” Sohi said.
“We are appealing for any witnesses that were at the bus terminal at around 7:10 p.m. to come forward.”
The area is currently closed as police continue to investigate.
