One person is in police custody after a TTC supervisor was assaulted aboard a streetcar in Toronto’s Harbourfront on Friday afternoon.

Police confirmed a female was arrested after an assault took place near Bathurst Street and Queens Quay West at about 3:30 p.m.

The male supervisor suffered minor injuries.

A witness told CP24's Katie Simpson the transit employee was assaulted after he noticed a female passenger was bleeding from her arms and legs.

When the supervisor approached to ask her if she was OK, the woman lunged at him and took several swings at him, said the witness, who declined to give his name.

The woman got off the streetcar but she was held until police arrived.
