A 58-year-old woman has been pronounced dead on scene after she was struck by a vehicle in Scarborough early Wednesday morning.
It happened in the intersection of Birchmount and Ellesmere roads at around 6:15 a.m.
"It appears the woman was on the roadway when she was struck by a Northbound Pontiac Sunfire," Const. Clint Stibbe told CP24 at the scene. "We don't know if she was attempting to cross the roadway or for what reason she was on the roadway, however there is no proper crossing in this area."
