Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that destroyed a seven-metre boat early Thursday morning.

The fibreglass boat went up in flames as it was stored at a dry dock at the Toronto Humber Yacht Club on Humber Valley Road, near Park Lawn Road and Berry Road, at about 4:55 a.m.

At least one other boat was damaged.

Damage is estimated at $30,000, said Toronto Fire Services spokesman Capt. Mike Strapko.

Strapko said the boat was plugged into an electrical outlet, so investigators are looking into the possibility the fire’s cause was electrical in nature.

Seven fire trucks and about 30 firefighters responded to the blaze, which sent flames several metres into the air.

No injuries were reported.
