Firefighters used a basket and lift system to pull an injured worker out of a deep construction pit Thursday morning.
The worker injured his leg or ankle in the 30-metre pit and was unable to climb a steep ladder on his own.
Once firefighters and paramedics climbed into the pit and assessed the man, firefighters strapped him into a Stokes basket and pulled him out of the hole on Grenville Street, near Yonge and College streets in downtown Toronto.
The man's injuries are not life-threatening.
Construction workers are excavating the site to build a high-rise condominium tower and underground parking garage.
