A rather dubious anniversary is being marked in the city today.

It has been one year since news of Rob Ford's alleged crack video broke. First reported late at night on the U.S. website, Gawker and then backed up by two Toronto Star reporters who had been offered the same video -- the story took on a life of its own and the worldwide spotlight on Toronto and its mayor continued for most of the year.

It would take nearly six months for Ford to admit that he had smoked crack cocaine and purchased illegal drugs since being elected.

Just last month the Globe and Mail came out with pictures of what is alleged to be yet another crack video and the mayor has since gone into rehab for substance abuse.
