A member of the premier’s transition team was charged Monday with distributing and making child pornography.

The 61-year-old suspect was arrested after investigators executed a search warrant inside a home in the Lawrence Avenue West and Avenue Road area.

Premier Kathleen Wynne’s press secretary confirmed the man once worked on the transition advisory team but refused to say anything else about the suspect.

“It would be inappropriate to comment on matters that are under police investigation or where charges have been laid and any questions regarding police investigation or the laying of charges should be referred to the police.” Zita Astravas said in an email to CP24.

Toronto police say their investigation was multi-jurisdictional and included assistance from police in both London, England and New Zealand.

Police also say the investigation is ongoing.

In the meantime, the suspect is expected to appear in court Monday afternoon.
